The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce Coomera Anglican College as the Club’s first official partner school.
Coomera Anglican College is a leading Gold Coast independent school which represents the values, culture and purpose as a partner school of the Brisbane Bullets. Like the Club, the College is focused on providing opportunities for growth, development and inclusion of youth in South East Queensland across both academic and sporting pursuits.
With a strong alignment in values and purpose of image, Listen, Respect (iLR), Coomera Anglican College provides a strong link to the youth of South East Queensland and supports the Brisbane Bullets Community and Development goals of inspiring and engaging the next generation of Queensland athletes by providing pathways to elite sport.
Brisbane Bullets Assistant Coach and Head of Development, Greg Vanderjagt said: “To partner with a school of the ilk of Coomera Anglican College, who have a shared vision of excellence for student-athletes, and commitment to building community, is tremendously exciting for our Club. This is a landmark partnership which will expand the reach of what the Brisbane Bullets Basketball Club does in our community and pioneer these types of partnerships across the South East”
“We aim to engage and inspire the youth of Queensland and by linking with Coomera Anglican College, to support their already established sporting excellence programs and provide additional opportunities for inclusion, development and growth for students is very rewarding for our Club. We look forward to working collaboratively with the outstanding team at Coomera Anglican College, to foster this relationship and ensure we deliver positive outcomes for the entire school and basketball community”.
“The Club has worked hard over the past twelve months in establishing our participation and development pathway and this for us is the next step in the evolution of our program”.
Coomera Anglican College Business Manager, David Dobbie said: “The College is very excited about our partnership with the Brisbane Bullets Basketball Club and are honoured to be the first to join this community focused program. The Brisbane Bullets organisation from their ownership group, CEO, staff and to their players are extremely committed and professional. Our shared values, purpose and passion align very well, and when this happens great things can be achieved.
“The College is committed to building strong links with the community and is focused on providing sustainable opportunities and pathways for students and athletes across all levels of sport. It is not just about the players, but supporting coaches, administrators, sports science, sports medicine, event managers, associated businesses, media, etc. The Brisbane Bullets share this vision and this partnership provides another valuable addition to our strategic partnerships. The College already has strong and committed partner links focused on junior development with Helensvale Swimming Club, Gold Coast Football Academy, Bond University Bull Sharks Netball, and North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball. Furthermore, the College’s commitment to our goals is also evidenced by our recent sponsorship of the very successful, Gold Coast Elite Sports Conference.
“As South East Queensland continues to grow as an internationally recognised sporting hub, these partnerships will support sustainable growth and lead to future investment in the area. We look forward to seeing the Brisbane Bullets, the sport of basketball, and the community connections flourish in the region and beyond.”
