The Brisbane Bullets, in consultation with the NBL, can tonight confirm that Sunday’s game against South East Melbourne Phoenix, scheduled to be played at Nissan Arena, has been postponed.
With the team currently in Perth, and off the back of today’s announcement of a three-day lockdown in that area, the team will be unable to travel back into Queensland without serving a mandatory quarantine period.
Members and fans who had purchased tickets to Sunday’s game at Nissan Arena will receive further correspondence from the club and Ticketek in the coming days regarding steps moving forward.
CEO Peter McLennan is disappointed with the schedule change but understands the need to adhere to Government regulations.
“It’s very disappointing that we’re not able to host the game on ANZAC Day at Nissan Arena but as I’ve said many times already this year, it is a year like no other and we need to be able to adapt and change at any moment,” he said.
“It was shaping up to be our biggest crowd of the year but first and foremost, everyone’s health is absolutely paramount during this pandemic.
“It’s a tough time for our team, who have already had a number of extended periods away from home this season, but they are a committed group who will stick together and look after each other.
“We will endeavour to be get in touch with everyone that had purchased tickets via email in the coming days to advise of the next steps.
“We thank all of our corporate partners, members and fans for their continued support during these ever-changing times.”
