The Brisbane Bullets today confirm Justin Schueller is finishing up his role as Head Coach, as the club prepares for the NBL26 season.
This decision aligns with the club’s long-term vision for sustained success and ensures the Bullets continue to move forward in their mission to compete at the highest level.
While coaching transitions can be challenging, the club remains unified in its commitment to delivering success both on and off the court for its players, partners, and passionate fan base.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Mal Watts reaffirmed the club’s strategic approach to the appointment process.
“We are running a process to identify the best person to lead the next phase of the Brisbane Bullets resurgence. We are committed to ensuring the progress to date continues to take a significant step forward in NBL26,” Watts said.
“This is a crucial decision for the club, and we are committed to ensuring we have the best direction in place to drive our team forward and deliver a strong and competitive season.”
The Bullets are currently in a significant phase of growth and development, having strengthened the club’s foundations in recent years.
The opening of a state-of-the-art High Performance Centre in the heart of South Bank has provided world-class training facilities to support player development and team success.
The return to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall has seen record-breaking crowds, reflecting the growing passion and support for the team.
Additionally, the club has expanded its community engagement efforts, with a focus to continually improve connections with fans, local businesses, and grassroots basketball programs.
“The progress we’ve made off the court has always been part of our long-term strategy, however the job is not done and there is much more for our organisation to deliver,” Watts added.
“I want to acknowledge and thank Justin for his contributions. Coaching changes are always tough, and we respect the work he has done during his tenure.
“Over the last two seasons he has provided a platform for the Club to pursue new heights. I can see the experience has also enhanced his growth and look forward to seeing what is next for Justin,” he said.
The club is now undertaking a comprehensive search to appoint a new Head Coach who will lead the next phase of the Bullets’ journey.
While the transition process is underway, the Bullets’ commitment to success remains unchanged.
The club will provide further updates on the coaching appointment in due course and looks forward to continuing to build toward a successful NBL26 season.
